The Bevis Frond is an English rock band formed in 1986 in Walthamstow, London. The band is fronted by Nick Saloman and has recorded many singles and albums on various independent labels. Saloman was originally in a band known as the Bevis Frond Museum in the late 1960s, and in the 1970s, whilst at college, he played guitar with a duo called Oddsocks. They released one album, Men of the Moment.

The Bevis Frond, the band name used by Nick Saloman for his projects, released Miasma in 1986 to great acclaim from fans of psychedelic rock. A steady stream of LPs since then showcase Nick's strengths of strong songwriting, finely crafted lyrics, and a musical mixture from wig-out guitar jams to sensitive folky numbers. New album The Leaving Of London is a triumphant return after a 7 year hiatus.
The basic template of the Frond sound remains resolutely unchanged; Saloman maintains generally good voice while playing all instruments and otherwise overseeing everything down to the design. Frazzled rockers rub up against calmer numbers, keyboards flesh out the sound, and the slight air of world-weariness in Saloman's vocals continues. It's great for longtime fans who want their music just like that, but newer ones would be better served with other, more distinct releases

Released in 1993 It Just Is was dedicated to one of Nick Saloman’s favourite guitarists Ollie Halsall, this beautifully poignant album is stripped back similarly to the earlier Bevis Frond releases with Nick going solo. Playing everything on the record, the hard hitting Desperate, What’s It All About and Can’t Stop Lying are notably more downbeat whilst the psych pop of Dreamboat Sinking and Day One’s lyrics make this album for the dedicated Frond obsessive more than anyone else. The double LP comes with 5mm spine single sleeve, printed inners and a download postcard.
