Album · 2008 · 23 Songs. The Berlin Concert Simone Dinnerstein.

2018 was a banner year for Simone Dinnerstein, including a highly lauded recital at the Kennedy Center, her debut with the London Symphony Orchestra, a live recital for BBC’s Radio Three, and an ambitious season as the first artist-in-residence for Music Worcester, encompassing performances, school outreach, master classes, and lectures. Dinnerstein’s performance schedule has taken her around the world. Dedicated to her community, Dinnerstein founded Neighborhood Classics in 2009, a concert series open to the public and hosted by New York public schools to raise funds for their music education programs. She also created a program called Bachpacking during which she takes a digital keyboard to elementary school classrooms, helping young children get close to the music she loves.

Exclusively for Prime members. Sample this album Artist (Sample). The selection of music for this concert is unusual and very interesting. The 20th century work sitting between Bach and Beethoven works extremely well. To me the playing is wonderful.

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presented by Washington Performing Arts! It’s been a wonderful few days of Bachpacking to schools, including with Milad Yousufi, my extremely talented student from Mannes School of Music. In particular, it was very meaningful to visit the extremely engaged students at Ballou Senior High School. 2. Simone Dinnerstein. 3 December at 09:42 ·. Exciting young pianist Simone Dinnerstein picks up where her acclaimed recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations left off with The Berlin Concert, which takes her label Telarc out, unusually, on the road. This concert was given in November 2003 at the Berlin Philharmonie and was engineered by ace classical recording veteran Adam Abeshouse; the sound quality is not significantly different from a studio recording, and while it does not capture the crackling electricity of some live dates, it is free of coughs, fidgeting, and other kinds of aural distractions

"Dinnerstein's subtly-inflected tonal purity and exquisite dynamic suppleness impart a sense of concentrated musical inevitability to the Bach French Suite rivaled only in my experience by Dinu Lipatti's incandescent reading of the B flat Partita. . . her playing (like Lipatti's) is such a natural extension of her interpretative vision that the two become completely indissoluble. The Gigue finale is not only touch-perfect (how does she create such an exquisite, velvety staccato?) but also so mellifluously voiced and immaculately balanced that it is difficult to imagine the music being played with a more complete grasp of every parameter. . . A stunning recital, engineered with tactile precision." -- International Piano, July 2008
