Colour Green is the debut studio album by actress and singer-songwriter Sibylle Baier. It was originally recorded between 1970 and 1973, but was not released until 2006. Part of the album was inspired by a trip through Europe by Baier and her friend Claudine. This particular journey yielded the writing of the track Remember the Day, reportedly the first that Baier had written up to that point. The instrumentation on most of the album is minimal, featuring only Baier’s voice and nylon-string guitar.

Colour Green, the one and only release from German underground folk denizen Sibylle Baier, has been around since the early '70s, albeit in her closet. Recorded on reel-to-reel in her home between 1970-1973, the budding actress, seamstress, writer, mother, and singer/songwriter chose family over fame, and it wasn't until the tapes landed in the hands of Dinosaur J. s J. Mascis that they began their ascent into the world that they so eloquently describe.
Sibylle Baier (born 25 February 1955) is a German folk singer and actress, whose musical abilities achieved belated recognition with the 2006 release of the album Colour Green, compiled from songs she had recorded in the early 1970s. Having played the guitar and piano as a young girl, she was moved to write her first song, "Remember The Day", after taking a road trip with a friend across the Alps to Genoa, via Strasbourg.
Sibylle Baier's Colour Green is an album of pensive and deeply moving songs and sweet, happy, infectious ones. Her lyrics are beautiful and poetic and the images, emotions, and concepts she evokes are often profound (particularly in the album's standout track "I Lost Something In the Hills). The music enhances her lyrics perfectly and have a great, unique, and moving aesthetic.
