Early Underground is a compilation album by American electronica musician Moby. It was released in March 1993 by Instinct Records. The album consists of tracks previously released by Moby under other pseudonyms such as Barracuda, Brainstorm, UHF, and Voodoo Child. A similar compilation, Instinct Dance, was released two years earlier by Instinct. All tracks written by Moby. Moby – arrangement, production, writing.
The tracks here are acceptable early rave-techno, but they won't appeal to those who think repetition is a sign of artistic deficiency. Most of the vocal samples are typical fare for the early '90s, but "Go (Original)" is more than worthy.

However, Early Underground is not better than Moby and the tracks on this album are not as memorable to me as the ones on Moby or Everything Is Wrong or I Like to Score or Play. I guess I have gotten spoiled by Play and since I feel that EIW, ILTS, and Moby are also solid albums this one is sorta of a letdown. This version is still good, but you've been warned that when you listen to this song that it won't be the version you've been expecting or the best version of this song. Maybe in time, my opinion of this album will change, but for now although it's a solid techno album, it simply is not as good as some of the other stuff he has done.
