Anthony Johnson just finished the man he believes defeated Jon Jones and now his goal is to hand the champion a beating 10 times worse than what Alexander Gustafsson did when they fought in 2013. Following Johnson’s first-round shellacking of Gustafsson, the new top dog in the contender’s race at 205 pounds didn’t have to wait long for the champion’s name to come up in the post-fight news conference. Johnson has learned a lot over the years - most notably that he doesn’t have to dislike an opponent to knock him into the middle of next week. He liked Gustafsson just fine, and Johnson finished him in less than three minutes. He feels - or doesn’t feel, as the case may be - the same way about Jones. I never come into any fight with emotion.

Jon Jones is currently slated to defend his long-held light heavyweight title against Anthony Johnson on May 23 at UFC 187. But "Rumble" is aware, that could change soon. That win earned Johnson the right to challenge for Jones' throne, and Johnson is resolute on keeping things that way, regardless of what legal trouble befalls the champion. I only want to fight for the title," Johnson said. I feel like I've worked my way up to being the No. 1 contender, and I plan on staying that way. Unless it's for a title, I don't want to be like Vitor and wait a year. But if I have to, I will.
