Personally I prefer this as the second last The Web albums (making Samurai the last), but who cares anyway? i spider was the third and final studio album by british prog rock band The Web. This album featured a new vocalist and a darker tone than their previous outings. Most specifically the band opted out their psychedelia sound for a fusion of jazz and progressive rock. The album was a financial failure, leading to the band forming under Samurai and releasing one final studio album before completely disbanding. Dave Lawson, the vocalist on this album, would see a successful career with Greenslade and Stackridge

Spider's Web" is the sixth single of Georgian-born singer Katie Melua and is the third single from her album Piece by Piece. The title song was written during the lead up to the Iraq War and is said to be about finding the difference between right and wrong. In the video for this single, there is a visual reference to Schindler's List. The single was a bigger success in continental Europe than in Britain, where it only made in the UK Singles Chart. In Poland, it made the top three.

Released in 1970, i spider is certainly ahead of its time, by that year Van der Graaf Generator wasn't a much bigger band than Web so it is difficult to know which band influenced the other. The truth is however, that this release is probably the only album ever to reach the quality of Hammill's unique style. In here we can see many emotions presented in the form of progressive rock: anger, love, desperation, happiness, depression, all of this is what makes of the record such an interesting listen.
